American Fashion Cookbook

Assouline have collaborated with the CFDA, Martha Stewart and author Lisa Marsh on a new book entitled American Fashion Cookbook, which features favorite recipes from famous fashion designers. Whilst these recipes, won’t turn you in to the next master chief but they are surprisingly tasty. The recipes include everything from Tory Burch’s gazpacho, Isaac Mizrahi’s spaghetti to Carolina Herrera’s toupine potatoes and John Varvatos’ soup.

American Fashion Cookbook features over a hundred recipes and even if there isn’t any that take your fancy there are some fantastic illustrations to fill up the pages.

British Fashion Designers

This is one of the first books to embrace the whole of the UK and its influence fashion. This book is aimed at anyone with an interest in fashion, both inspirational and informative but also doubles up as a great coffee table book.

This book focuses on British designers since 2000, who have made their influence resonate globally, such as Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Julien Macdonald, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson, Paul Smith and others flying the British flag. Each chapter is devoted to one designer and defines visually how Britishness informs their work, showing final collections, process work and studio space.

Hywel Davies has really produced a truly insightful and informative book, which shows why everyone is so envious of Britain's flawless style.

Nonnative

Taking, their inspiration from travels, Nonnative dissects and reconstructs details from miltary, outdoor and work wear. Nonnative also has a strong philosophy that quality and value should be experienced with ones own hands to be fully appreciated. Therefore, extra love and attention is paid to each piece.

Lou Dalton

Lou Dalton's career began back in her home country of Shropshire when she left school at 16 to take up an apprenticeship in bespoke tailoring and pattern cutting. A desire to play a more creative role led to further studies, resulting in a masters degree in Menswear from the Royal College of Art in 1998. On graduation, Lou moved to Italy and worked as a design consultant, a job she would remain in on her return to London, with her clients including the likes of Hamish Morrow and Stone Island.

Ever honing her aesthetic and eagerness to create her own menswear collection, Lou Dalton was launched in 2005 and has since steadily developed a reputation for rebellious 'English' sportswear.

A.D.Deertz Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

A.D.Deertz (ADD) was founded in 2000 by Wibke Deertz, who has established the label as a brand that caters to a crowd that has a keen eye on fashion but refuses to make too much of a fuzz about it.

They have recently shifted the label from unisex to an all menswear line, building on their reputation for avoiding short cuts and dispensable gimmicks, while focusing on the subtle detailing. By blending qualitatively-high yet simple fabrics with unpretentious styles A.D.Deertz inadvertently defines urban trends.

Made from Plastic has a sneaky peek at their superb Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which build on the strong staples that has made this a real brand for the future.

Norse Projects

Norse Projects was established in 2004 in Copenhagen, Denmark. It originally began as a shop, which combines street, classic work wear and fashion culture, stocking some of the best, cult and rising labels out there.

In 2009 though, Norse Projects released its own clothing collection, which has Made from Plastic all hot under the collar. Norse Projects pieces are built for practicality but still remain true to their street wear edge, with heavy knits, checked shirts, basics and chinos all cut and tailored to perfection. Made from Plastic's highlight of the collection though is their superb photo tees, which combine the perfect amount of quirky and style.

Norse Projects latest collection has already set themselves head and shoulders above their competition and are a label who are sure to blossom as their growth continues.
