Hawaiian Shirts

The Hawaiian shirt is generally regarded as one of the must have items for every beach bum and “big fat party animal”, to quote Homer Simpson but its limited appeal is set to change, with this seasons main trends and influences coming across from stateside.

With many of the best efforts for the Hawaiian shirt this season coming from Adam Kimmel, Paul Smith and Gucci (probably the best Hawaiian shirt you will see all season but the most expensive), Made from Plastic though has taken it upon itself to find one where the shirt dazzles more than the price tag. These come from Hawaiian shirt specialists Karmakula, with an array of designs and colour options.

Wills-Moody Jumble Sale

Wills-Moody Jumble sale has been running since 2005 and is one of Made from Plastic’s favourite days out in London. The jumble sale is on the 3rd Sunday of every month, held at St Aloysius Social Club in Euston and is the place to be if you love vintage clothing, old records, books, jewellery and much more but if you need a break from the shopping there is a bar.

“It’s ACE! It’s like a gig and shopping all muddled up-this is great!”

Little Joy

Made from Plastic is head over heels in love with Little Joy’s self titled debut LP, which was recorded in California on Rough Trade. This record has been booming around the Made form Plastic headquarters nonstop (silly dancing and tone death singing optional).

Little Joy is the side project of The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, with Rodrigo Amarente and Binki Shapiro making up the rest of the band, who have an easy going tropical folk/indie sound. The album is full catchy tracks, beautiful melodies and harmonies, which make the album a truly enjoyable listen and Made from Plastic is urging you to check out.

Pretty Green

Like the rest of the world Made from Plastic are pretty big Oasis fans and although are favourite Gallagher is Noel, we have always loved Liam’s effortless style. So it was great news in the Made from Plastic headquarters when we heard Liam was to bring out his own clothing range entitled Pretty Green.

Pretty Green is intended to be an up-front, straight talking, classic clothing range, which will be entirely limited edition. It will feature a very rounded collection including footwear, denim, knitwear, jackets, trench coats, parkas, T-shirts, hats and accessories.

Whilst Made from Plastic expects the garments to be quite contemporary, Liam’s favourite item at the moment appears to be a pair of bright leopard print suede loafers, which also gives the impression that some of the pieces will be quite daring and fashion forward.
"Clothes and Music are my passion. I’m not here to rip anyone off and I’m not doing it for the money either. I’m doing it cuz there’s a lack of stuff out there of things I would wear"
-Liam Gallagher

French Horn Rebellion

French Horn Rebellion, who consist of two Brooklyn based brothers that combine electro, pop and jingly jangly noises have just dropped their new EP “Up All Night”. The title song has yet to leave Made from Plastic’s stereo (it really is that good) and sounds what we would imagine MGMT to sound like if they did sexy
