Other than the excitement of seeing their new showroom Made from Plastic had a sneak peak at their Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which is a real move from them in the right direction.

Made from Plastic will have the full Spring/Summer 2010 look book very soon.

Dirt Box Continued...

It will come as no surprise to those who know Made from Plastic that Dirt Box is one our favourite labels (as you very rarely see me in anything other than one of their tees) so you can imagine how happy Made from Plastic is to inform of their latest batch of goodies. Those clever lads at been tinkering away in their laboratory and come up with two extremely sharp tees, “Burnt Out” and “Trippin Ballz”. The “Burnt Out” tee also boasts a new and improved fit, which is even more of a bonus.

Made from Plastic highly recommends you get your grubby hands on their latest offering as you won’t regret it and watch out as the best is yet to come. You should also grab a set of their customised poker dice and hustle, hustle, hustle!!!

Without Backbones

Without Backbones is an East London label, which follows a strict dress code of black on black with a splash of white, dynamic grey and a soupcon baby pink. True to form these boys reflect fresh humorous design with a slightly cynical view born out of spent youth in a provincial seaside town. Their pieces continually invoke images of a quintessential suburban rude boy and shambolic sporty Goth on a musical exchange in a hackney launderette.

Without Backbones is another label that is filed under the Made from Plastic frequently worn section and we are thoroughly recommending you to check them out.

Marjan Pejoski has been operating his own label since 2000 to much acclaim, with his unique style. He merges traditional techniques and materials with truly original concepts, merging old with new, past with future. The result is original and individual pieces and look, which are romantic, innocent as well as sinful, androgynous but dandyesque.

Marjan Pejoski drops four collections, which are always stylishly left of centre, enduring, versatile and Made from Plastic always loves.

Jack Spade

Jack Spade originally started out as a woman’s wear line but as its success grew Jack Spade branched out into menswear. He produces accessories for the modern man, which are exceptionally practical, with highly original yet subtle design flourishes. Made from Plastic has been a long running fan of Jack Spade and is continually amazed with his new pieces and is looking very forward to his debut clothing collction coming soon.

“Soon after, I heard about a student at Art Center in Los Angeles who wrote a senior thesis entitled “The History of Carrying.” I immediately called and scheduled a meeting with him. He was fascinated by function and science, having received his degree in both fine art and industrial design. He understood the Jack Spade philosophy and aesthetic and was interested in creating something new. We combined my point-of-view on design with his passion for function and launched JACK.”

Sam Haskins: Fashion Etcetera

Sam Haskins new book “Fashion Etcetera” is his first joint publishing project with a designer (Tommy Hilfiger), which showcases a retrospective assembly of Haskins’ work. The book itself concentrates on celebrating style, with figure photography and graphic thinking. Made from Plastic has been a long term fan of Haskins work and feels you will be one after picking up this book.

“As a rule I do not remember my visual experiences as a series of isolated, individual scenes. At the end of a working day my mind swims with images in which multiple components blend and merge. The montage approach combined with the simultaneous use of double-page-spreads provides an effective formula for marshalling all these elements into an organized graphic entity.”
