100 Years of Menswear
100 Years of Menswear (Laurence King publishing) is a fantastically insightful and rich, comprehensive collection of images covering menswear over the last 100 years with text by fashion historian Cally Blackman (currently a lecturer in London). This book has masses of photography and illustrations bookmarking all eras of the last century, including images of Hollywood style icons, the artist personalities and more.
This is a fantastic book, which Made from Plastic loves and is a must for all fashion students, historians of dress and lovers of men's clothes.

Esben and The Witch
Esben and The Witch is a Brighton trio who have taken their name from a Danish fairytale involving cruelty to children, ritual slaughter and other unpleasantness, which I won’t mention. Their music is very dark, gloomy, with electronic and Goth overtones. The band them self have described their influences as “glaciers, caverns and waning moons” and that they write dark tales, which indeed they are but oddly inviting.

Trailer Trash Tracys
One of the bands who have been occupying Made from Plastic’s stereo recently are Trailer Trash Tracys, who quite simply make big, beautiful music surrounded in reverb, their own drones and woozy atmospherics.

J Lindeberg Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection
Immaculately dressed in the midst of their adventures the early explorers of the highest mountains, remote landscapes and solitary wilderness inspired J.Lindeberg’s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection where garments are elegant but like all their collections cut for functionality. The utility and function found in work wear has emerged and evolved through generations of the army, the navy, hunters and farmers. Heralding back to a time where clothes were long lasting and crafted with a mission for survival.
In a more civilised context, authentic garments have been shaped and further developed with technical fabric mixes and construction methods, yet still remaining true to their heritage. More formal in their silhouette, utility outerwear is reworked ready for the urban challenges faced in a modern world. The padded herringbone down blazer combines classic tailoring characteristics with modern functionality. Work wear inspired shirting is layered over one another whilst boiled and heavy knitwear are worn under blazers. New cropped proportions provide a neater and precise silhouette.
The deep and intense colours range from icy blue skies to purple black nights and the numerous shades of grey found in the horizon of Scandinavia during the winter form the palette. These are contrasted against vibrant hues of the ever transforming colours of autumnal leaves. This is yet another stunning collection from those Scandinavian kings of effortless style.
